Welcome to the Party Time Tuesdays. Happy World Card Making Day 2012! We hope all of you are having a fabulous time making cards! Here is a little history about this fun holiday:
World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded byPaper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.
Celebrating its seventh year in 2012, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making community—hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers—to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making. Join us in the fun on October 6, for World Card Making Day 2012!
Now that you know the background behind the holiday, I want to encourage everyone to make someone in your lives a card "Just Because". Here at PTT the theme of our cards are "Thinking of you" or "Just Because". We have also used the fun colors of our blog for our color palette.
We are so excited and SOOOO lucky to have Krista Smith as one of our friends. She is so over the top generous and nice....we cannot say enough about her and her company "Saturated Canary". Her images are adorable and unique. Have you seen the newest addition to her Saturated Canary family? Butterfly Baby. This sweet image has a story that you can read HERE.
