Autumn Inspiration with Vintage Images With Dapoppins

Hello everyone. Dapoppins, popping in for your daily dose of inspiration!

 There have been some incredible entries in this months challenges so far.  The Anything Goes Challenges seem to be bringing out the best in everyone.  The details on your beautiful projects, from the way you all color and highlight your adorable stamps, to the way you layer and place your elements, inspire me so much.  I really want to learn some of your techniques.

That is one of the things I love about paper, since there are so many levels of expertise, so many ways to express yourself that anyone can do it.

I know Party Time Tuesdays host people from all around the world. I have a friend in Australia who is posting about spring crafts! But in my part of the world, it's Autumn, the kids are in school, and the unpredictability of my summer schedule has smoothed out a little.

Funny Mini Book For A Tween Boy with Dapoppins

Hello everyone!  Dapoppins here, also known as Dana S, wishing you a lovely end of summer.  I hope everyone has the most of their back to school shopping done?

I don't.

I have four kids.  Seems like when I get one kid done, someone else needs something I forgot.

I'm so happy to be able to share a sneak peek with you of a mini-scrapbook I did for my oldest on his eleventh birthday.  I created a day-in-the life story in which my hero boy saves the world from an invasion of an unusual enemy.  Pop over to Dapoppins, and see how it all turned out!

The Red Umbrella -Mixed Media 3-D with Dapoppins

Today I'm so happy to share a sneak peek of one of my 3-D mixed media pictures that I created on a wood 12 x 12 boxed birch panel.

If you haven't guessed, my online name, Dapoppins, come from a combination of my given name, Dana, and Mary Poppin's: that practically perfect nanny created by author P. L. Travers.  I attended Nanny School in 1988 and have been working professionally ever since.

 Mary Poppin's always carried her signature umbrella.

To me umbrellas do more than protect one from the rain.

They are a little bit magic, a little bit fun, and a whole lot of wonderful.

Scrapbooking Old Photos With Dapoppins

I'm Dana, also known as Dapoppins, and so glad to be here today to share what I've been working on.
It may be a  beautiful day outside, but instead, I'm hiding inside, in a closed air conditioned room going through a box of old photos my mom sent me.

I've been slowly working through the box through the summer, trying to match colors from my stash of paper's and practice my layering techniques.  I would love for you to stop by my blog, Dapoppins, so I can share them with you, and if you have any great ideas for papers or embellishments that are good for these older, oddly colored photos please share with me!

Mixed-media Canvas Board with Dapoppins

Hello everyone.  I am Dapoppins, aka Dana S.  I am so happy to be here.  This is the first time I have ever gotten to directly share any of my work with other people of like obsession.

I have always loved paper in all it's forms.  From books, to wrapping paper, to pretty cards and stationery, so it's not surprising that when scrapbooking became popular again, with all it's paper, tools, and yummy embellishments I would soon become obsessed.

This last year while I focus on my passions instead of frittering away the hours on time-eaters, or dreaming on Pinterest instead of doing,  I began to branch out into mixed-media.  Basically it's still scrapbooking as far as I'm concerned only with a substrate and lots of gel medium.

I am so excited to be with you today to share a peek at a canvas I made with my daughter's help!
