Art gives me wings!

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd share a blast from the past that gives me a little more motivation to get back into my art journal. I've always loved using what I have around me to create texture and movement, especially unusual textures like paper towels, canvas and ephemera.

I find that using items like these really frees up my creativity and brings my own style to my art journals and canvases.

Take a peek at the full project on my blog, here.

Have a great weekend!

PTT#158 February Color Challenge

Hello to all of you fantastic creators! We are happy to have you with us today for our weekly challenge. This Tuesday we are inspiring you to create something with these colors. We are thrilled every week to see the creations you post with the links. This challenge is brought to you by our friends over at Creative Embellishments.

Here is our PTTYDD#158- Color Challenge

challenge was inspired by Your Party Planner: L. Grace Lauer. These are her favorite colors! They are beautiful are they not? Grace join our team and is now a co-Party Coordinators with Jenn Cochran. We asked her to share a few things about herself in a quick Q & A.

When did you 1st start crafting? I have always been involved in some kind of art. I began paper crafting when I was 16 and my mom became a Creative Memories Consultant back in the day.

What is your dirty little crafty secret? My dirty little Crafty secret has to be that I often glitter my cheaper scrapbook pages instead of springing and buying the more expensive versions.

Favorite music or song that inspires you. Currently it is Firework by Katy Perry, something about being the best you can be... releasing the something in you that inspires others... gets me every time.

We will be posting daily to jump start your mojo. For now you can see some of Your Party Planners fantastic examples of the color usage in different projects.

Chunky can be a good thing

Hi all! I'm back to show off a project I did in my altered book art journal. I have several sketchbooks and mixed media books that I also use, but by far, my altered book is my favourite go-to art journal. There's just something about the size, the text that can peek through and the fact that it's already hard bound. I love how it's getting bulky too.

I love using lots of textures in my journaling and you can see more up close shots on my blog. And when you see the closeups, you'll understand why my altered book is getting so chunky.

Have a great week!

Art Gives me Wings!

"I first starting art journaling and crafting in 2011. I started with a simple journal, then moved onto canvas, then scrapbooking." -Kiki Halbert

Hi everyone! Kiki here today and I'm thrilled to be part of this amazingly talented group of ladies! It's been bitterly cold here lately but I've been keeping warm inside with fun projects. Here's one I did a while back that warms my heart.

Head over to my blog to see the complete project.
